BioInc@NYMC embarks on huge expansion at Valhalla campus

November 01, 2019

Biotechnology incubator BioInc@NYMC celebrated its five-year anniversary Wednesday and announced a huge expansion of its current facility.

Westchester lawmakers joined BioInc officials from New York Medical College in Valhalla for a ribbon-cutting to officially open the expanded space.

The expansion nearly doubles the size of the current facility. The new state-of-the-art facility with enhanced amenities is expected to serve as a resource and support more biotech startups in the Hudson Valley.

The expanded space can accommodate up to 20 new startup companies. Officials say they are currently reviewing several applications from prospective startups looking to move into the expanded space.

BioInc@NYMC Director Deborah Novick says it means more innovative scientists can come and work on the campus and collaborate with faculty, offer research opportunities, and employment opportunities for students. She believes it is a space where people can collaborate, share ideas, and feel much more like a community.
